We Cheated on the Smokey's

The month of September was a bust as far as the Smokey's was concerned. Not once did we set a foot on a trail in the GSMNP. BUT, we were all very busy hiking elsewhere ...

Rod and Pam made a trip to EUROPE and hiked in the ALPS. So they got their fill of mountains and then some.

Chuck and Heidi made a trip to Washington State in the USA and hiked on Mt. Rainier and the beaches of the Pacific North West.

So although we did miss the Smokey's and are running short on time to finish our 100 Mile Centennial Challenge, we are heading out tomorrow to the GSMNP. So be on the lookout for more to come.

What's the Fuss About?

Follow the adventures of six hikers as they attempt to walk all 900+ miles of trails in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Rod and Pam - The experienced empty-nesters, a nurse practitioner and well established artist that have a handle on the gear and keep the chocolate supply flowing, as well invent new glands. (Yes, glands)

Nate and Rebecca - A fireman/weather guru and nurse, they are the son and daughter-in-law of Rod and Pam, and when they aren't geocaching or munzee hunting, the energetic duo leave their GeoCat, Olaf, at home and remind us what it's like to be newlyweds.

Chuck and Heidi - The recent empty-nesters, an engineer and nurse combo who provide access to the expired bear spray, assurance that the team will not get lost in the wilderness (left brain navigational skills), and tireless enthusiasm for the journey.
